## Description

Succipro is a biotechnology spin-off of the Institut de Recerca Biomèdica CatSud (IRB CatSud) and Universitat Rovira i Virgili, focused on developing innovative medicines for inflammatory and metabolic diseases. Drawing on research from the DIAMET group, the company aims to turn scientific discoveries about succinate biology into precise therapies for patients with unmet medical needs.

Its approach centers on modulating succinate, a molecule involved in inflammation, and developing first-in-class treatments that may offer greater selectivity and fewer adverse effects. Succipro’s lead program is an investigational therapy for inflammatory bowel disease, designed to reduce excessive succinate levels and support a healthier microbiome while addressing intestinal and systemic inflammation. The company also plans to explore other conditions associated with elevated succinate, including metabolic dysfunction-associated fatty liver disease.

Succipro is advancing biomarker-based personalized treatment strategies, with an emphasis on safety and therapeutic efficiency. Its stated goal is to progress its lead program toward early clinical development and contribute to a new generation of treatments for chronic inflammatory conditions.
