## Description

Sumi-e is a traditional Sino-Japanese ink painting practice presented through the work and teaching of Zen and Sumi-e master Beppe Mokuza Signoritti. The site introduces the art form as a mindful, whole-body practice in which brushwork, observation and spiritual reflection come together. Its themes draw on traditional East Asian painting, including landscapes and the Four Gentlemen: bamboo, orchid, plum tree and chrysanthemum. The gallery also features works influenced by Zenga, Zen’s black-and-white sketch style, alongside abstract and innovative interpretations.

Sumi-e offers workshops and retreats in Europe that combine painting, meditation and opportunities for quiet reflection. A five-day workshop in Limburg, the Netherlands, is advertised with accommodation, full board and painting materials included. The site also shares information about an international Sumi-e school based in France and its academic-year applications. For those seeking a personal artwork, commissioned paintings can be created around a subject or idea supplied by the customer. Through its gallery, teaching and commissions, Sumi-e connects traditional ink painting with contemporary practice and mindful creativity.
