# The Summer Camp Project

## Description

Summer Camp Project expands access to meaningful summer experiences for young people aged 11 to 15 from under-resourced communities across the Puget Sound. The organization addresses the financial barriers that can keep youth from outdoor education and enrichment, helping them build confidence, life skills, curiosity, and a sense of belonging. Rather than limiting assistance to one camp or affiliated program, Summer Camp Project operates as an independent scholarship funder, enabling each young person to choose the experience that best fits their interests. Supported opportunities may include a week at an overnight camp or an immersive day-camp program, with activities such as creative arts, filmmaking, and robotics. Its approach gives youth greater agency while helping families access experiences they might otherwise be unable to afford. Supporters can contribute through monthly donations, appreciated stock, donor-advised funds, corporate gift matching, and planned gifts. Through these programs and community support, Summer Camp Project works to make summer exploration and personal growth more accessible, helping young people create lasting memories and discover new possibilities.
