## Description

Sunny Story LLC shares a family’s experience with loss through Sunny’s Story, a drug-prevention book narrated by Sunny, the family beagle. Written by Virginia “Ginger” Katz, the story follows Sunny’s life with his young master, Ian, from their first meeting at an animal shelter through the painful consequences of alcohol and other drug use. It combines joyful and difficult moments to help readers consider how everyday choices can affect young people and their families.

Created for children, teenagers, parents, grandparents, and teachers, the book aims to encourage discussion about substance-use risks and the importance of helping youth remain drug-free. Katz is the founder and CEO of the Courage to Speak Foundation, a nonprofit established after her son Ian died from an accidental drug overdose. Through Sunny’s story and related impact stories, the site presents a family-centered approach to drug-prevention awareness and communication between parents and children. Visitors can learn about the book, read stories about its impact, and purchase a copy through the website.
