## Description

Sunset Zoological Park is a beloved brand that has been inspiring conservation of the natural world since its founding in 1933. This community treasure, located in Manhattan, Kansas, has been a hub of cultural and educational enrichment for over 80 years. The park was established by the Manhattan Parks and Recreation Board and was originally funded by the Works Progress Administration. Today, Sunset Zoo operates on 26 acres of land and is home to a diverse array of animal species. With a commitment to animal care, education, and conservation, the zoo is accredited by the American Zoo and Aquarium Association (AZA) and has continually maintained their high standards since 1989. Visitors can explore the park's various departments, including Administration, Animal Care, Education, Guest Services, Horticulture/Maintenance, and Marketing/Development. In 2022, Sunset Zoo opened Expedition Asia, a new exhibit featuring Malayan Tigers, Sloth Bears, and Amur Leopards. Support for Sunset Zoo comes from the City of Manhattan as well as two 501c3 not-for-profit organizations: the Friends of Sunset Zoo and the Sunset Zoological Park and Wildlife Conservation Trust. Plan your visit today to experience the wonders of nature at Sunset Zoological Park and be a part of their mission to inspire conservation of the natural world.
