## Description

The Alberta Centre for Urological Research and Excellence (ACURE) is a urology research centre located within the Kipnes Urology Centre in Edmonton, one of Canada’s busiest urologic clinics. Affiliated with the University of Alberta’s Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry and Alberta Health Services, ACURE brings together clinicians, researchers, and research support staff to advance urologic care through research, innovation, and clinical excellence.

ACURE integrates patient care with research, supporting studies that aim to improve outcomes, access to care, and clinical practices. Its work includes investigator-led research and industry-sponsored clinical trials, with studies spanning areas such as stone disease, imaging, and urologic procedures. The centre also shares research findings through publications and updates, and provides opportunities for residents, students, and fellows to participate in research alongside clinical training.

A multidisciplinary support team helps coordinate trials and maintain patient databases, while urologic surgeons and clinician-scientists lead research and clinical initiatives. ACURE also welcomes donations to support research and contribute to advances in urologic care and patient outcomes.
