## Description

Hawaii Lifeguard Surf Instructors (HLSI) is a family-owned Native Hawaiian surf school serving Kailua-Kona on Hawai‘i Island since 1998. Rooted in local culture and a connection to the ocean, the school offers private, safety-focused surf instruction led by professional Hawaiian lifeguards and watermen certified by the American Red Cross. Classes combine land-based coaching on paddling, pop-ups, and ocean safety with guided surfing at Kahaluʻu Bay, with equipment, rashguards, and water footwear provided.

Guests can choose one-on-one lessons for surfers ages five and up, private duos for ages ten and up, or small private groups of three to four for ages twelve and up. A one-hour introductory course is also available for solo and duo surfers.
