## Description

SURFTAG is an Australian tag team surfing series that brings boardriding clubs together to compete for the title of Australia’s No. 1 Boardriding Club. Founded with a Men’s Division in 2001, the series added a Women’s Division in 2008, followed by Grommets (Under 14s), Juniors (Under 18s) and Masters (Over 40s) in 2022. Overall champions are determined by ratings points earned across the divisions.

The competition uses a surfing relay format, where teams must manage wave selection and time carefully. Surfers race against a countdown clock, creating high-pressure heats and close finishes. At its heart, SURFTAG celebrates teamwork and representing local communities.

The organisation runs the annual SURFTAG Series and publishes event schedules, heat draws, results, rankings and ratings. Its calendar also features events such as the All Schools Wavepool Championships and the RJ Thomas Solicitor Manly Surf Festival. Competitors can access entry forms, while fans can follow live heats and news or join the email list for event updates.
