## Description

Surgical Menopause New Zealand Trust is a New Zealand charity supporting women who experience, or are preparing for, menopause caused by ovary removal. Recognising that sudden menopause can be overwhelming and affect both body and mind, the organisation provides trusted information, peer connection and advocacy to help people navigate the experience.

Its website offers guidance for before and after surgery, including explanations of surgical menopause, causes, preparation, informed consent, recovery and symptoms. Visitors can explore information about hormone replacement therapy (HRT), complementary and non-hormonal treatments, emotional wellbeing, long-term health and financial impacts. The Trust also provides free patient resources, downloads, frequently asked questions, a glossary, recommended reading and a healthcare directory.

For community support, it runs a peer group for New Zealand women who have experienced or are preparing for surgical menopause, and shares personal stories and news. The organisation also promotes self-advocacy and offers ways to support its work through donations, volunteering, campaigns and petitions.
