## Description

Surname Database is a family-run website with over 20 years of expertise in researching surname origins. Founded by Michael Brook of "Name Origin Research," our team of 5 researchers based in the Republic of Ireland has compiled a vast database of surname information. Originally established through mail-order requests, we transitioned to the online world in 2006 to make this valuable resource accessible to everyone.

Our database, curated before the internet age, continues to expand and evolve with the addition of new names and user contributions. Whether you're exploring your family history, delving into ancestral DNA, or simply curious about the origins of surnames, Surname Database is your go-to destination. Join our community to discover, share, and learn about the rich tapestry of family surnames. Visit us today and let the journey begin.
