## Description

Surrey Hills Aikido Club teaches Aikido and self-defence in Coldharbour, near Dorking, Surrey. The club presents Aikido as an art of peace: a way to respond to conflict and create a more peaceful outcome. Its approach also connects practice with everyday life, offering students an opportunity to develop practical skills alongside confidence, balance, fitness and enjoyment.

Beginners are welcome, and no previous experience is needed. Classes take place at Coldharbour Village Hall, around 4.4 miles from Dorking Station. The club’s website provides information for newcomers, including Aikido basics, class details, teachers, events, a belt syllabus and recommended reading. It also lists linked clubs and a members’ area, supporting people as they explore or continue their training.

Surrey Hills Aikido Club shares resources from the British Aikido Board and the Aikido for Daily Life initiative. For class and membership enquiries, the club can be contacted by telephone or email. Through its local teaching and emphasis on peaceful self-defence, it introduces Aikido to people in Dorking and the surrounding Surrey area.
