## Description

Susan Spungen is a cookbook author, cook, recipe developer, and food stylist whose work brings together seasonal cooking, practical expertise, and an eye for presentation. She was the founding food editor of Martha Stewart Living, serving in the role for twelve years from the magazine’s launch in 1991. Her career also includes food styling for film productions such as Eat, Pray, Love and Julie & Julia, as well as contributions to publications including The New York Times, Bon Appétit, and Food52.

Spungen has written five cookbooks and shares recipes and food writing through her website and Susanality on Substack. Her recipe collection spans starters, main dishes, salads and vegetables, pasta and grains, cookies, and desserts, with an emphasis on tested, seasonal dishes. Featured recipes include cardamom crumb muffins, farro bowls, salads, pies, and baked treats. She also offers books, event information, and opportunities to cook along with her through Substack.
