Sussex County Habitat For Humanity (SCHFH) is a nonprofit, ecumenical Christian organization dedicated to eliminating substandard housing and homelessness, making adequate and affordable shelter a matter of conscience and action. Founded in 1991, SCHFH has served over 2,500 individuals in Sussex County, Delaware through various programs and services. Their programs include home construction and preservation, home repairs, financial literacy, and energy-efficient upgrades.

Each year, SCHFH brings together thousands of volunteers and community members to help address the affordable housing needs in Sussex County. To date, they have built or rehabbed and sold over 174 homes. SCHFH has an open-door policy, welcoming volunteers and supporters from all backgrounds.

They serve people in need of decent housing regardless of race or religion. It is important to note that SCHFH and its affiliated organizations do not proselytize or require adherence to a particular faith to receive assistance. Moreover, SCHFH is committed to diversity, equity, inclusion, anti-racism, and eliminating disparities and inequities.
