# Sussex Jewish Records - **Website:** - **Primary alias:** `sussexjewishrecords.org.uk` ## Description Sussex Jewish Records is a dedicated not-for-profit project that aims to preserve and digitize the historical records of the 250-year-old Jewish community in Sussex, primarily centered around Brighton and Hove. Established by a team of passionate volunteers and led by genealogist Naomi Leon, the initiative seeks to make available the untapped genealogical resources that highlight not only prominent figures but also the everyday lives of ordinary families who have shaped this vibrant community. The project focuses on indexing and digitizing various records including marriage certificates, burial data from the area's oldest cemeteries, and other essential documents housed in the archives of the Brighton & Hove Hebrew Congregation. With efforts currently underway to index vital records from the 1830s to the present, Sussex Jewish Records encourages family historians and those connected to Jewish Sussex to engage with its offerings. The initiative also supports related activities such as cemetery restoration and conservation projects, sustaining the heritage of this historic community for future generations. ## Industries - 🎸 Hobbies and Leisure - 🎸 Ancestry and Genealogy _(under Hobbies and Leisure)_ - 🎗 Community and Society - 🎗 Faith and Beliefs _(under Community and Society)_ ## Logos & icons - logo _(primary)_ — PNG — [download](https://cdn.brandfetch.io/idaW_7gkUA/w/512/h/512/theme/dark/logo.png?c=1bxid64Mup7aczewSAYMX&t=1788780901640) ## Colors | Name | Hex | Theme | | --- | --- | --- | | Diesel | #050000 | dark | | Mercury | #e6e6e6 | light | ## Fonts - Arial — asset _(custom)_ --- _Source: _ _See [/llms.txt](/llms.txt) for a full list of agent-readable pages, and [/auth.md](/auth.md) for how agents authenticate._
