The Society of St. Vincent de Paul Exeter (SVdP) in Exeter, New Hampshire, was established in 1989 with a simple but crucial mission: to provide emergency food and assistance to those in need when other resources have been exhausted. Inspired by scholar and advocate Frederic Ozanam, who founded the Society in Paris, France in 1833, SVdP has since expanded to 150 countries and over 4,400 conferences in the United States alone.

Initially operating out of a building provided by St. Michael Parish, SVdP acquired their own facility in 2011, which allowed them to serve their clients more efficiently and respectfully. As the Community Assistance Center, it collaborates with various local agencies to provide services such as dental care, homeless support, and Medicaid application assistance.

SVdP also extends its food and financial assistance to residents of Exeter, Stratham, Newfields, Brentwood, Kensington, and East Kingston. With a dedicated governance board and committed staff, SVdP remains steadfast in their mission to assist the less fortunate and build a stronger community
