About
Description
The Society of St. Vincent de Paul Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston has been dedicated to serving the greater Houston area since 1871. As a 501c3 non-profit organization, their mission extends beyond providing food assistance.
With a network of 56 parish-based chapters, known as Conferences, and over 1,800 volunteers, they strive to make a positive impact on the community. The Society offers a range of programs and services to address the needs of those in need. This includes home visits, disaster relief, a food network with over 20 neighborhood pantries, and the Getting Ahead Program.
They also have two Thrift Stores and accept various types of donations, such as financial, in-kind, and vehicle donations. Driven by their core values of Spirituality, Friendship, and Service, the Society of St. Vincent de Paul aims to alleviate suffering and distress while promoting the dignity of every individual.
They envision a future where access to financial and social resources is not limited by one's location. For over a century, the Society of St. Vincent de Paul has been a beacon of hope and compassion in the Houston-Galveston community, making a tangible difference in the lives of those in need
