## Description

Sveriges Fontänhus Riksförbund is the national organisation supporting Sweden’s network of Fontänhus, community-based programmes for people living with mental health challenges. Its approach focuses on people’s strengths, experience and abilities, bringing members and staff together as colleagues in a supportive, work-oriented community. The federation promotes the Fontänhus model, helps establish new houses and connects people with local services across Sweden.

At a Fontänhus, members can take part voluntarily in meaningful daily tasks, social activities and wellness programmes, while building routines and a sense of belonging. Individual support is available for those pursuing education, internships or employment, as well as help with contacts involving healthcare and public authorities. Study support is offered through seven study units and a folk high school. Activities may include walks, exercise, meditation and cultural events, including evenings and holidays.

Membership is free, requires no referral or specific diagnosis, and has no time limit. Participation is unpaid and flexible, with each member choosing how and when to contribute.
