## Description

South Vancouver Island Rangers (SVIR) is a community-minded outdoor organization with roots dating to 1947. Formed by local members of the Pacific Coast Militia Rangers after the Second World War, the club has remained part of Vancouver Island life for generations. Its motto, “Ready to Serve,” reflects a commitment to community service as well as outdoor recreation. The Rangers support local causes through contributions that include donations to the food bank of funds and locally caught fish.

SVIR brings members, families and friends together through a range of activities and social events. Members can take part in trap and skeet shooting, with opportunities for both newcomers and experienced shooters to practise in a club setting. The organization also offers outdoor archery, salmon fishing derbies and other recreational activities. Its facilities include ranges and spaces available for rentals, with range access subject to scheduled hall or grounds rentals. An events calendar keeps members informed about shoots, archery activities, meetings, fishing derbies and other club events.
