## Description

Segel-Verein Wedel-Schulau e.V. (SVWS) is a sailing club founded in Schulau in 1936 and based at Strandbaddamm 18 in Wedel, Germany. Its clubhouse, boat hall and outdoor grounds support a year-round community of sailors, boat owners, newcomers and volunteers. During summer, members sail on the Elbe and Baltic Sea, while the club’s youth group trains in the Schulau harbor and nearby beach-bathing bay. In winter, members gather for boat maintenance, social events and sailing-related discussions.

SVWS offers youth sailing courses, including beginner training in Optimist dinghies, and activities across several boat classes. Its education program includes junior sailing certificates, sport sailing qualifications, motorboat licences for inland and coastal waters, and radio certificates such as SRC and UBI. Practical training and refresher courses are also available. Members can take part in weekly Wednesday sailing, cruises, regattas and events such as seasonal flotillas and the autumn ball. The club also provides information for prospective members and a marketplace for boat-related listings.
