The Swansea & District Writers Circle (SDWC) is a vibrant community of writing enthusiasts dedicated to fostering the craft of writing since its establishment in 1954. Located in Swansea, the Circle embraces individuals from diverse backgrounds, offering a welcoming environment for aspiring and seasoned writers alike. Regular monthly meetings feature guest speakers from various literary fields, engaging members with insights into writing and publishing. For those unable to attend in person, virtual participation is often available.

SDWC hosts several supportive groups, including informal Feedback and Poetry groups, where members share and critique each other's work. The Circle also proudly organizes competitions, including their celebrated International Writing Competition, aligning with milestones like their 70th anniversary.

In addition to networking and educational opportunities, the SDWC publishes a range of anthologies showcasing the creative talents of its members. From poetry collections to themed story compilations, these publications highlight the diverse voices within the Circle, making the SDWC a cornerstone of the literary community in Swansea.
