## Description

Swidg is a carpooling platform and community designed to help commuters make better use of their journeys to work. Developed by TakeASeat BV, a spin-off of UHasselt, it combines mobility research with a matching algorithm originating in a doctoral study. Swidg supports companies seeking sustainable mobility and improved employee engagement, while helping employees reduce fuel costs and environmental impact without compromising convenience. Its platform matches colleagues using location, timing, and personal preferences, and lets users view planned rides, connect with partners, chat, receive prompts and reminders, and track trips in real time. A community dashboard helps monitor carpooling progress and individual benefits. For employers, Swidg offers a tailored implementation process that assesses carpooling potential, feasible matches, potential savings, and ecological impact. It also surveys employee travel patterns and barriers, provides a savings calculator, and helps shape a change program suited to each workforce. Swidg serves organizations and commuters interested in making carpooling a practical, engaging part of everyday mobility.
