## Description

Swizec Teller is a software engineering educator and writer who shares practical lessons drawn from more than 20 years of building production software. His experience spans side projects, small businesses, and high-growth startups, including both successful and unsuccessful ventures. Through his website, Swizec offers articles, essays, books, and a newsletter focused on the realities of modern software engineering and the skills that are often learned only through hands-on work.

His writing explores senior engineering judgment, project management, shipping software safely and quickly, code review, and the use of AI in production. He also covers JavaScript and TypeScript, React, serverless systems, databases, APIs, and backend operations. Rather than concentrating only on tutorials, Swizec aims to explain the deeper challenges of production code and the decisions engineers face as projects and teams grow. His book, Scaling Fast: Software Engineering Through the Hockey Stick, focuses on the thinking behind helping teams maintain momentum as they scale. Readers can browse essays by topic or subscribe to receive his candid, experience-based insights by email.
