## Description

Synairgen is a pioneering brand that has been at the forefront of understanding and combating respiratory illnesses for nearly 50 years. Founded by British immunophysician Professor Sir Stephen Holgate in the 1970s, Synairgen has dedicated itself to unlocking the secrets of the human lung's defense mechanisms. Through groundbreaking research and the use of ex vivo models, which involve studying cells collected from patients with respiratory diseases, Synairgen has made significant strides in understanding the vital role of interferon beta (IFN-β) in a healthy respiratory system. Deficiencies in this naturally occurring protein can lead to severe illness and even death. Building on this knowledge, Synairgen has developed an innovative inhaled formulation of IFN-β. This revolutionary treatment directly targets the lungs, the primary site of viral lung infections such as COVID-19. Led by founders Professor Sir Stephen Holgate, Professor Ratko Djukanovic, and Professor Donna Davies, Synairgen continues to push the boundaries of respiratory medicine. Their dedication to scientific excellence and improving patient outcomes sets them apart in the field. Join Synairgen on their mission to transform respiratory healthcare and protect the lungs that keep us breathing.
