## Description

Pienryhmäkoti Tähkä is a privately owned child welfare residential care unit operated by Tähkäpolku Oy in Hollola parish village, Finland. Founded in 2012, it offers a small, homelike and safe placement for up to seven children and young people aged 6–18 who have been taken into care or placed through child welfare support measures. The unit is located in a rural setting, in the historic main building of a farm, with opportunities to enjoy nature, take part in activities and find space to relax.

Tähkä’s approach to therapeutic residential care is planned, goal-oriented and rehabilitative. Everyday activities, community life and children’s participation are central to its work. The unit uses Green Care methods, including nature-, animal- and farm-based activities, to support wellbeing and engagement. Tähkä also works closely with schools to prepare and support each child’s education, arranging remote schooling in collaboration with the school when ordinary attendance is not possible.
