# Tahoe-LAFS - **Website:** - **Primary alias:** `tahoe-lafs.com` ## Description Tahoe-LAFS is a free and open-source project developing a decentralized cloud storage system designed to protect privacy and maintain reliability. Rather than keeping data on a single server, the system distributes it across multiple servers. Its design aims to keep the file store functioning even if some servers fail or are compromised, while preserving the privacy and security of stored data. The project offers Tahoe-LAFS software, downloadable releases, installation instructions, a user manual, frequently asked questions, and other documentation to help people get started. Its website also provides access to source code, project news, and development resources. Users and contributors can participate through the tahoe-dev mailing list, community chat on Libera or Matrix, and regular project meetings covering governance and technical topics. Tahoe-LAFS is supported by volunteers and welcomes donations and sponsorship. LeastAuthority.com sells service and support for LAFS, develops improvements, and contributes them to the open-source project. The project has also received support from Google and Atlas Networks. ## Industries - 🖥 Computers Electronics and Technology - 🖥 Cloud Services and Computing _(under Computers Electronics and Technology)_ - 🖥 File Sharing and Hosting _(under Computers Electronics and Technology)_ ## Links - [github](https://github.com/tahoe-lafs) ## Logos & icons - logo _(primary)_ — PNG — [download](https://cdn.brandfetch.io/idgYNMAnj5/w/288/h/88/theme/dark/logo.png?c=1bxid64Mup7aczewSAYMX&t=1790975986771) ## Colors | Name | Hex | Theme | | --- | --- | --- | | Boston Blue | #2f8ab5 | accent | | Guardsman Red | #bb0000 | dark | | Sunset Orange | #fe4646 | light | ## Fonts - Arial — asset _(custom)_ --- _Source: _ _See [/llms.txt](/llms.txt) for a full list of agent-readable pages, and [/auth.md](/auth.md) for how agents authenticate._
