## Description

Taichi-Berlin is a Tai Chi Chuan school in Berlin, led by Thomas Karthaus and Monika Mewes. Based at Akazienstraße 27, the school teaches Tai Chi and Qi Gong in the classical Yang style, combining slow, flowing movement with breathing and meditation to support balance, flexibility, physical health and mental well-being.

Its program welcomes beginners and experienced practitioners. Offerings include trial lessons, introductory courses, ongoing classes, weekend and intensive courses, holiday retreats outside Berlin, and individual instruction. Students learn the three-part Tai Chi form and can progress to deeper practice exploring movement principles such as yin and yang and spirals. The curriculum also includes Qi Gong, Push Hands, Tai Chi applications, Taoist meditation, and sword and saber forms. Additional Qi Gong practices include the Eight Brocades, walking Qi Gong, Shaolin stretching and the Five Animals. Adapted classes are available for people aged 60 and over. Monika Mewes also offers Peter Hess sound massage, using resonant singing bowls to encourage relaxation and a sense of inner balance.
