## Description

Daoist Internal Arts is a teaching school founded in 2005 by Dr Matthew Brewer, who moved into full-time internal arts teaching that year. Based in East Kent, the school offers weekly classes in Canterbury, Deal and Walmer, Elham, and online, as well as weekend workshops and retreats. Its instructors include Matthew, Fiona McArthur and Dave Willis, who teach at different locations and online.

The school teaches Wu Style Tai Chi, Qigong, Neigong and Daoist breathing practices. Classes and programmes include Wu Style long and medium forms, Dragon and Tiger Qigong, Neigong Fundamentals, Heaven and Earth, Immortals, Cloud Playing, Longevity Breathing, Still Breathing and The Three Swings. The school follows the Water Method, a Daoist tradition transmitted by lineage master Bruce Frantzis. Its approach emphasizes deep relaxation, awareness of personal limits and practising gently, rather than using force. The school describes its method as accessible to a wide range of people and offers information about Tai Chi for chronic pain and other chronic conditions, alongside articles, PDFs and practice resources.
