## Description

TaijiAcademy, also known as the Taijiquan Research Institute, is a Hong Kong nonprofit founded in 2005 by Chan Siu Wah, a longtime student of Taiji master Wang Zhuanghong. The organisation brings together people interested in Taijiquan to explore its principles and techniques and to promote the practice and culture of this traditional art. It follows Wang’s Water Style Taijiquan teachings and presents the discipline as more than healing exercise or martial skill, connecting its practice with traditional Chinese philosophy and the ideas of yin and yang.

TaijiAcademy offers classes in Water Style Taijiquan forms and pushing hands, as well as instruction in Taijiquan theory and intent-led practice without relying on force. Its regular sessions take place in Wan Chai and Kowloon Park, with options for structured classes and informal practice. The institute also holds workshops, talks, events and an annual members’ meeting, and provides video resources, including recordings of lectures and workshops. Membership information, a discussion forum and ways to support the organisation are available through its website.
