## Description

TAILS of Transformation is an equine-facilitated learning organization based in Mancos, Colorado. Its programs bring people together with horses to encourage self-awareness, personal growth, and healing through connection, communication, and relationship-building. The organization’s name reflects its guiding values: Trust, Awareness, Inspiration, Learning, and Significant moments for a healthy life.

Horses are central to the approach. As social, prey animals, they respond to what is happening in the present and mirror people’s emotions without judgment. By observing a horse’s reactions and considering their own feelings, participants can explore new perspectives and develop greater awareness.

TAILS of Transformation offers programs for individuals and groups, with particular attention to the needs of youth and adolescents. Activities with horses are intended to support life skills such as problem-solving, critical thinking, and confidence, as well as social and emotional development and understanding of mental health and wellness. The organization is led by Tiffany Nichols, a Horse Connected Learning Coach and Executive Director, and invites community members to learn about its programs, volunteer, and support its work.
