## Description

Taizé is an ecumenical Christian community based in Burgundy, France, welcoming young people and visitors of all ages from around the world. Through prayer, song, reflection and shared life, it encourages spiritual exploration, friendship and unity across Christian traditions. Visitors can attend daily prayers, join Bible readings and times of common prayer, or take part in a week of silent retreat. The community also offers practical information and registration for visits, volunteering and gatherings for young people, teens, adults, families and day visitors.

Taizé’s work extends internationally through fraternities and visits, as well as European meetings and initiatives promoting solidarity. Its annual European Youth Meeting brings together thousands of young people for prayer, sharing and fellowship; the 49th meeting is scheduled for Łódź, Poland, from 28 December 2026 to 1 January 2027. The community shares resources for prayer and reflection, including songs with sheet music and audio, Bible commentaries, letters, books and multimedia. Its shop features pottery, enamels, art, board games and herbal teas.
