## Description

Takasaki Matsuri, celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2024, is a vibrant community festival in Gunma Prefecture that showcases unique cultural heritage through lively parades and spectacular fireworks. This year, the festival will take place on August 24th and 25th, featuring an impressive display of 15,000 fireworks, traditional float processions, and a highlight competition of "Dashi" (floats) and "Mikoshi" (portable shrines).

Among its distinctive offerings are the massive "Daruma Mikoshi" and innovative “Creative Daruma Mikoshi," making it unlike any other festival. The event not only emphasizes traditional performing arts such as Wadaiko (Japanese drums) and Awa Odori dance but also encourages citizen involvement, fostering a sense of community among attendees.

Takasaki Matsuri is a testament to resilience and innovation, adapting to modern times while preserving its rich history, ensuring its sustainability for future generations. Join us to experience the spirit of Takasaki and indulge in the local culinary delights!
