## Description

Take Action Today is a faith-based 501c3 not-for-profit organization dedicated to enhancing recovery resource capacity in Franklin, Jefferson, Perry, and Williamson County, IL. As a Recovery Community Organization, our mission is to advocate for the needs of the recovery community at the local, regional, state, and national levels. We offer various programs and services to support individuals seeking recovery from substance use and homelessness. Our Peer Recovery Support Program connects people with trained Peer Recovery Specialists who provide non-clinical case management services, recovery planning, and recovery coaching. Our Recovery Resource Center Initiative aims to create community centers where individuals can find the support and resources necessary for successful long-term recovery. Additionally, we focus on the development of a credentialed peer recovery support training program through our Peer Workforce Development program. We aim to create a workforce of peers who will staff our current and future expansion of services. Through our Communities of Recovery program, we foster the development of recovery community organizations in underserved rural communities in Southern Illinois, providing much-needed peer support services. At Take Action Today, our goal is to create a vibrant recovery community that fosters long-term recovery from substance use and homelessness. Join us in building a supportive and stigma-free environment where individuals in recovery can thrive physically, emotionally, socially, and spiritually.
