## Description

Talbot House is a living museum and guesthouse in Poperinge, Belgium, preserving the story of an “Every Man’s Club” that offered British soldiers a welcoming refuge during the First World War. Founded as a place of peace and fellowship, the House remains open to everyone and works to serve as an international centre for peace and reconciliation.

Visitors can explore the historic building and its original artefacts through individual and family visits, guided group tours, and educational school visits. Engaging stories and historical details bring the wartime experience to life. Talbot House also offers overnight stays in the Old House and its garden rooms, giving guests the opportunity to experience the site’s distinctive atmosphere and history. Its programme includes activities, storytelling walks, commemorative gatherings, and other community events organised with the help of volunteers. An online digital guest book lets visitors discover historical names recorded in the House’s wartime visitors’ books and communicants’ rolls.
