## Description

TALER Blockchain is an independent, open, community-driven cryptocurrency launched in September 2017. Inspired by the historic European Thaler, a widely used silver coin from the 15th to the 19th century, the project aims to bring ideas of trust and broad utility into the digital age. It is separate from GNU Taler and has no affiliation with the GNU Project’s digital payment system.

Built on the Bitcoin Core foundation, TALER uses a UTXO model and combines Proof of Work and Proof of Stake. Its Lyra2Z mining algorithm is designed to be memory-hard and ASIC-resistant, while Dark Gravity Wave adjusts mining difficulty. The network supports mining and staking rewards, with staking active from block 130,000.

The project provides wallet downloads and native binaries for Windows, Linux, and macOS, including x86_64 and ARM64 platforms. Users can also run a node, consult technical documentation and FAQs, explore project links, and contact the team.
