## Description

Tannzapfe-Zunft zu Olten is a cultural association and the city’s second-oldest carnival guild. Founded on 4 April 1950, it has been part of Olten’s carnival and cultural life for decades. The guild brings together around 40 members, including former and current guild masters, journeymen and prospective members, who contribute to its traditions and activities. On several occasions, the association has provided the Obernaar, the leading figure of Olten’s carnival, and it is set to do so again in 2026.

The guild is run by a council whose roles include guild master, treasurer, carnival coordinator, archivist and members responsible for sponsorship and equipment. Its members represent a range of experience, from long-serving former guild masters to new applicants. The association’s guild room is at Bodega el Pato Vinos y Tapas. People interested in learning more can contact the guild master, visit as a trial guest or ask about becoming an applicant. Tannzapfe-Zunft zu Olten offers a way to connect with local carnival traditions and take part in the city’s cultural community.
