## Description

Carolina Tarwheels is a cycling club for road and gravel riding enthusiasts in North Carolina’s Triangle region. The club organizes social rides across Orange, Durham, Wake, Alamance, and Chatham counties, welcoming cyclists of all ability levels and promoting both the fun and challenge of riding. Its weekly rides offer a range of distances and effort levels, from shorter, easier outings to fast and far rides that are noncompetitive. Ride information and route maps are shared through the club’s Meetup page.

The club also hosts BikeFest, an annual charity ride supporting cycling initiatives in the Triangle. Participants can choose routes of 35, 45, 62, or 100 miles, and riders of all paces are welcome. Beyond organized rides, Carolina Tarwheels shares updates about hikes and local events, and takes part in community initiatives and policy work to make cycling safer and more accessible. Members can access rider safety guidance, route-finding resources, and tools for ride leaders.
