## Description

The Tanzania Diabetes Association (TDA) is dedicated to combating the rising burden of non-communicable diseases (NCDs) in Tanzania, particularly diabetes. Collaborating closely with the Ministry of Health and PORALG, TDA implements a variety of programs aimed at enhancing the capacity of healthcare providers in NCD prevention, early detection, and management. With a significant focus on integration between NCDs and other health issues such as HIV/AIDS, TDA actively trains healthcare workers, having trained over 1,300 individuals in 2022 alone.

TDA also plays a vital role in the promotion and awareness of NCDs through community events, such as the NCD Week, where thousands receive screenings and education on disease prevention. Additionally, the organization supports the development of national research agendas and provides guidelines to enhance health service delivery. Engaging media professionals, TDA encourages the dissemination of vital information through social media, fostering a well-informed public about diabetes and other NCDs.
