## Description

Life First, Emergency Training is an Azorean company founded in March 2020 by nurse João Amaral. It provides certified emergency and resuscitation training throughout the Azores for healthcare professionals and the general public. Its courses cover first aid, advanced first aid techniques, adult and paediatric basic life support, and basic life support combined with automated external defibrillation (AED). The company also offers the “Teaching to Save a Life” programme.

A key part of Life First’s work is implementing and maintaining AED programmes. These programmes equip locations with defibrillators and trained responders who can provide basic life support and defibrillation while awaiting emergency services. Life First supports clients through the process, including programme licensing, installation, training and ongoing maintenance.

The company’s founder has experience in emergency response dating back to 2005, including work as a volunteer firefighter and lifeguard, as well as training and coordination roles. Based in Ponta Delgada, Life First serves organisations and communities across the region with a focus on professional, practical emergency preparedness.
