## Description

TECH SALT explores and markets rock salt from the Campina de Cima mine in Loulé, Portugal, while developing new ways to reuse the underground site. The company builds on more than half a century of mining expertise and is committed to product quality, safety, environmental responsibility, innovation and community value. Its work combines the extraction of rock salt with the promotion of Earth sciences, mining and art.

The mine’s history began with water prospecting in the 1950s, which revealed extensive rock-salt deposits. Mining started in 1966, and the site has since developed into a vast underground network, with more than 35 kilometres of galleries. TECH SALT also presents the mine as a destination for industrial and mining tourism, offering visitors the opportunity to explore its underground spaces and learn about mining. The company’s plans include a themed museum and arts space, reflecting its aim to connect industry, science and culture.
