TEDx Silicon Valley hosted its inaugural conference on December 12, 2009, featuring 26 speakers and performers, and garnered participation from over 100,000 individuals and groups in 45 countries through live streaming. The event generated over 11. 8 million social media impressions, successfully sharing TED ideas and inspiring social change.

On May 14th, 2011, TEDx Silicon Valley will host its second conference, Living by Numbers, exploring this emerging concept with an impressive lineup of speakers for a curated audience of Silicon Valley thought leaders. The event will take place at Stanford's Cemex Auditorium. TEDx Silicon Valley is part of the TEDx program, a series of independently organized events that aim to spread ideas and create connections.
