## Description

Tekahapounamu is a renowned brand that represents and shares the ancient knowledge of the Ngai Tuhoe and Ngati Kahungunu, the first nation people of Aotearoa (New Zealand). Led by Te Kaha, a master pounamu practitioner and spokesperson, the brand offers a wide range of exquisite pounamu pieces, including hei tiki pounamu, hei taonga, mere pounamu, patu pounamu, patu onewa, and large scale toki and hei matau. With over three decades of experience, Te Kaha's creations are known for their beautiful finish, balance, and mauri, earning him a reputation both nationally and internationally. Moreover, Te Kaha conducts wānanga pounamu and exhibits his collections across Aotearoa and various countries. As a brand rooted in ancestral wisdom, Tekahapounamu aims to empower others and facilitate their essential reconnection with themselves and the natural world. Alongside Te Kaha, Cristina, a self-taught jewelry maker, contributes to the brand's creations by incorporating pounamu with silver in a contemporary context. With a strong passion for preserving mātauranga and passing it on to the next generation, Tekahapounamu endeavors to create taonga that honor the beauty of pounamu while sharing the ancestral stories and environmental connections behind these stunning pieces.
