## Description

Telethon is a Western Australian fundraising organisation that brings together the community to improve the health and wellbeing of children who are sick, vulnerable or disadvantaged. Run by the Channel 7 Telethon Trust, it supports life-changing medical research, essential health services and other assistance for children across the state. Its annual Telethon Weekend is a major community event, featuring a 26-hour live broadcast, entertainment and stories from children and families. The event is held in Perth, with activities at RAC Arena and across the city.

People can support Telethon by making donations, organising or joining fundraisers, volunteering, taking part in workplace giving, or leaving a legacy gift. The organisation also offers Telethon merchandise through its online shop. Its programs include Telethon in Schools, grant funding for beneficiaries, the Premier’s Telethon Challenge and opportunities for local organisations to receive support. By connecting donors, partners, schools and community fundraisers with children’s causes, Telethon helps direct public generosity towards practical support and a brighter future for children throughout Western Australia.
