## Description

Cech Terra de Selinan is a civic association based in Žilina, Slovakia, bringing history to life through medieval reenactment, martial arts, archery and traditional crafts. The group focuses particularly on the German population of Upper Hungary in the 15th century, while sharing a broader interest in medieval life. Its roots date to 1990, when members began as scouts drawn to the ideals of medieval knighthood.

The association creates living-history experiences that offer a tangible impression of the past, including medieval camps featuring fighters, craftspeople and civilians. It also practices historical European martial arts (HEMA), using replicas of documented training or live weapons alongside modern protective equipment. Its archery activities focus mainly on intuitive shooting with wooden bows, and members also take part in tournaments.

Traditional crafts are another part of the group’s work. Camp demonstrations may feature candle-making, blacksmithing, writing, shoemaking and tailoring. These crafts can also be presented separately, including at markets through dedicated stalls.
