## Description

Terrain NRM is an independent, not-for-profit environmental stewardship organisation working with communities across Australia’s Wet Tropics to support sustainable futures for people and country. As one of the region’s leading natural resource management bodies, it combines scientific research with local knowledge and collaborative action to strengthen the resilience of rainforests, reefs, landscapes and communities. Its work spans waterway health, biodiversity, soil health and climate resilience. Projects include reefwise farming, water-quality improvement, streambank repair, wetland monitoring, habitat connections, forest resilience and conservation initiatives for native species. Terrain NRM also supports healthy farming and sustainable agriculture through programs such as Healthy Farming Futures, the Sustainable Agriculture Facilitator and Climate Smart Farming. The organisation develops regional planning and partnerships, including the Wet Tropics NRM Plan, and offers initiatives such as Indigenous bursaries, an emerging leader program and a Natural Capital Fund. Through practical projects, community engagement and regional coordination, Terrain NRM aims to foster thriving ecosystems, productive soils, healthy waterways and resilient landscapes throughout the Wet Tropics.
