## Description

Terveysmetsä is a Finnish nature and wellbeing initiative that helps people explore the health benefits of spending time outdoors. It presents the forest as a practical resource, a place for restoration and a way of thinking that can begin with something as simple as one tree. Drawing on research into nature’s effects, Terveysmetsä encourages people to pause, notice their physical and mental state, and use time in nature to support wellbeing.

The initiative serves both individuals and social and healthcare professionals. Its resources include books about nature and wellbeing, guidance for personal forest visits, and training for Terveysmetsä guides. It also shares experience and ideas for integrating nature exposure into social and healthcare services, including the use of nature referrals. Through its articles, media information and community activities, Terveysmetsä builds understanding of the relationship between people and nature and invites others to participate and support its work. Its approach combines practical outdoor experiences with education, encouraging people to care for themselves through nature and inspire others to do the same.
