## Description

Texas Health and Science University (THSU) is a Texas-based institution focused on education in Traditional Chinese Medicine and integrative health. Founded in 1990 as the Texas Institute of Traditional Chinese Medicine, it describes itself as home to Texas’s oldest Traditional Chinese Medicine program. Its mission is to prepare healthcare providers and business leaders to support the well-being and economic vitality of their communities through holistic education, lifelong learning, and inclusive academic engagement.

THSU offers a Master of Acupuncture with a Chinese Herbal Medicine specialization, along with continuing acupuncture education. Its Doctor of Acupuncture with Chinese Herbal Medicine Specialization program is approved to enroll students but is not currently accredited; the university is seeking accreditation. THSU also provides student resources, financial aid information, library services, and career opportunities. The university operates campuses in Austin and San Antonio, where its student intern clinics offer acupuncture services to the public. The university’s accredited master’s program is accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine.
