# Text Clarifier - **Website:** - **Primary alias:** `textclarifier.com` ## Description Text Clarifier is an AI-powered dictionary and reading assistant that helps people understand unfamiliar language without leaving the page they are reading. Its browser extension lets users select text on a webpage or PDF and receive an instant, context-aware explanation. By considering surrounding sentences, the service clarifies medical jargon, legal terms, technical concepts, idioms, slang, and complex phrases rather than relying on generic definitions. Text Clarifier also translates into more than 18 languages, with explanations designed to preserve context and idiomatic meaning. Users can bookmark terms and AI-generated explanations in a personal knowledge bank, then search, filter, organize, and review saved entries from a dashboard. The extension works with Chrome and other Chromium-based browsers, including Microsoft Edge and Brave. The service is currently free and includes 100 requests per day; bookmarking does not count toward this limit. Selected text is sent to an AI model for processing, while Text Clarifier says it stores usage counts rather than query content. ## Industries - 🗺 Reference Materials - 🗺 Dictionaries and Encyclopedias _(under Reference Materials)_ - 🖥 Computers Electronics and Technology - 🖥 Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning _(under Computers Electronics and Technology)_ ## Logos & icons - logo _(primary)_ — PNG, SVG — [download](https://cdn.brandfetch.io/idda645LkO/w/820/h/703/theme/dark/logo.png?c=1bxid64Mup7aczewSAYMX&t=1793611526298) ## Colors | Name | Hex | Theme | | --- | --- | --- | | Scandal | #ccfbf1 | accent | | Surfie Green | #0f766e | dark | | White | #ffffff | light | ## Fonts - var(--font-geist-sans) — asset _(custom)_ - var(--font-geist-sans) — asset _(custom)_ --- _Source: _ _See [/llms.txt](/llms.txt) for a full list of agent-readable pages, and [/auth.md](/auth.md) for how agents authenticate._
