## Description

Thaagam Foundation is a registered, Chennai-based nonprofit working across India to alleviate hunger and uplift communities. The organisation invites individuals and donors to support programmes in food, education, healthcare, animal welfare, environmental action, orphanage support, and livelihoods. Its offerings include meals for people experiencing homelessness, food and essentials for families, school supplies and child education, healthcare assistance, blankets, hygiene and care kits, and support for young hospital patients. Donors can also fund animal feeding and care, tree planting, water bowls and bird houses, and livelihood resources such as bicycles and tailoring machines. Thaagam provides options for birthday and festival giving, including celebrations with underprivileged children, as well as monthly donations and volunteering. The foundation says it documents contributions with donor recognition, photos, videos, and updates to help supporters see their impact. It reports serving more than 115 lakh meals and working with over 6.5 lakh donors. Thaagam Foundation is 80G-certified, and eligible donations may qualify for tax exemption under Section 80G of India’s Income Tax Act.
