## Description

148 Jiu Jitsu is a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu academy in Redwood City, California, serving children, teens, and adults. A proud affiliate of the Jean Jacques Machado Association, the academy provides instruction for beginners and experienced practitioners in a welcoming, supportive setting. Founded and operated by retired law enforcement professionals, it emphasizes technical excellence, practical self-defense, discipline, respect, confidence, teamwork, integrity, and personal growth.

Programs include kids’ and adult Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, with training suited to students at different experience levels. The academy welcomes people seeking martial arts classes, a first introduction to the sport, continued training, or practical self-defense skills. Its Redwood City location serves students from San Carlos, Belmont, Menlo Park, Atherton, Woodside, Foster City, Palo Alto, East Palo Alto, San Mateo, and nearby Peninsula communities.

Beyond instruction, 148 Jiu Jitsu offers apparel and related products through its shop, as well as The 148 Project podcast, hosted by Jocelyn and Ed Soares.
