## Description

The 1911 Foundation is the philanthropic organization established by the Sewell Family of Companies, inspired by the family’s history and commitment to the communities that have supported its success. Its name honors 1911, when E.F. Sewell invested his savings in Model Ts, assembling the vehicles at his Texas hardware store and teaching customers how to drive. More than a century later, the foundation carries forward the family’s legacy by focusing on education and opportunity.

The foundation supports students pursuing higher education through scholarships, resources, and mentorship. Its work is guided by the belief that aspiring students should have the chance to pursue their educational goals regardless of financial background. Alongside financial support, the 1911 Foundation offers guidance and development opportunities intended to help scholars build skills and confidence for academic and professional journeys. By investing in students and nurturing their potential, the organization seeks to encourage the next generation of leaders, innovators, and change-makers.
